Well it is almost 9am as I am writing this, and the network here at the university is having a lot of problems. The lightening storm last night appears to have done a number on the network here, so access is spotty, which is something I don't like at all ;) This means that people will be calling me expecting that I can fix things in spite of it being a problem with ITS, not anything that I have control over.

So yesterday I decided to call my mom and dad, to see if they were going to be downtown when I got off work at 4:30pm, and sadly they were not. This meant that I had to wait out the storm, which is not a big deal, the whole thing blew over in about 20 minutes. So I get to the top of the stairs of the building I am in (the phones are in the basement, and my cell was at home) and stand at the large bank of windows facing the street.. about 40 seconds after I am there, a loud crack and flash of lightening hits the tree just 100 yards from the building.. right where I would have been had I decided not to wait the storm out. Scary, but at the same time it was really cool to see the destruction! :D

alexxis_hart dropped by last night and we watched Spaceballs.. it is good to have a laugh or two.

Well, the network is working again at 9:20 so I am able to get my real work started...
